Water Damage Restoration
Water Damage Restoration That Saves More of Your Property
We track down the water that has wicked into your walls and under your floors and dry it before it ruins more drywall, flooring, and cabinets. That keeps your repair smaller, so you’re back in your home or business sooner.
We handle both the drying and the repairs, so you don’t have to explain to a new contractor what came out and why. We know how Alaska homes and businesses are built, so when we close the walls back up, we put the vapor barrier and insulation back the way our winters require.
How Water Damage Restoration Works
Our Water Damage Restoration Process
01
Call us when you find water
We answer 24/7 and talk you through shutting off the water if it’s still running. Then we send a crew from our nearest office, typically arriving at your property in about 60 minutes.
02
We remove the standing water
We pump out standing water, pull it from carpet and pad, and move furniture and belongings out of harm’s way, then measure the walls, floors, and ceilings for moisture you can’t see.
03
We dry what the water soaked
We set up air movers and dehumidifiers in every room the water reached and dry out the walls, floors, and framing behind them, so we don’t rebuild over materials that are still wet inside.
04
We put your property back together
After drying, we send your adjuster our repair estimate if insurance is involved. Then we replace the drywall, flooring, and trim we couldn’t save, so your property is ready to use again.
In an Emergency
Immediate Steps to Take in a Water Emergency
Stay Clear of Power
If outlets, cords, or appliances are under water, stay out of the room, since the water can carry a current. Only turn off power at your breaker panel if you can reach it from a dry spot with dry hands. If you can’t, call your electric utility.
Keep Everyone Safe
Keep kids and pets out of the wet area, and stay out from under any sagging ceiling. Avoid touching floodwater or sewage, since it can carry bacteria that make people sick.
Shut Off the Water
Turn off your main water valve, usually where the water line enters your home. Skip it if getting there means wading near power. Once the flow stops, move photos, papers, and unplugged electronics to a dry room.
Call Us Next
Once everyone is safe, call us at (866) 604-8697. We’ll come out, see how far the water has spread through your property, and start drying everything out to limit the damage.
Our People
Our Alaska Water Damage Team
We send technicians from our offices in Anchorage, Palmer, and Fairbanks, so the crew in your basement or crawl space is a local one. We set the fans and dehumidifiers where you can work around them and keep the work area tidy, so the job is easier to live with while it’s underway.
In the community, Taylored Restoration sponsors the Scotty Gomez Foundation, Rush Soccer Club, Elite Sports Fitness Center, and the Alyeska Ski Club Golf Tournament.

Taylored Restoration FAQs
Anchorage, Mat-Su, and Fairbanks Water Damage FAQs
Will my insurance cover water damage from a burst pipe?
Usually, yes. Insurers generally treat a burst pipe or failed water heater as sudden damage and pay to dry and repair what the water reached, but not to fix the pipe itself. Flooding from outside during spring breakup typically needs a separate flood policy. We document the damage for your adjuster as we work.
Will mold grow after water damage?
It’s unlikely once the structure dries out. Mold can start growing on wet drywall and wood within a day or two, which is why we begin drying on our first visit, as soon as the standing water is out.
How long will it take to dry out my property?
Usually several days, depending on how much water got in and what it soaked. Hardwood floors and plaster walls hold water longer, so a room with them can take a few extra days before we start the repairs.
What happens to my furniture and belongings?
We move them away from the water first. Then we inventory anything that needs cleaning or drying, take it to our facility, and keep it in heated, secured storage while we work on your property.
Is it a bigger job if the water came from a sewer backup or outside flooding?
Usually, yes. Clean water from a supply line often lets us dry carpet, drywall, and flooring in place, but sewage and outside floodwater can be contaminated, so we remove the porous materials they soaked and clean and disinfect what stays.
Can you help if my boiler or baseboard heating leaks?
Yes. Boiler and baseboard leaks aren’t unusual in Alaska homes, and we pump out the water, dry the structure, and repair the damage just as we would after any other leak, while your heating contractor fixes the system itself.
