Fire Damage Restoration
Why Alaska Property Owners Call Us After a Fire
After a fire, you want the smoke smell gone, your belongings saved, and your property rebuilt without juggling contractors. We handle all three, so one company answers for the whole job.
Wood stoves, chimney fires, furnaces, electrical failures, and cooking accidents are common causes of fires during Alaska’s long heating season, and we’ve been restoring fire-damaged Alaska properties since 1986. We also work directly with your adjuster, so the claim isn’t one more thing you handle alone.
How Fire Restoration Works
Our Fire and Smoke Restoration Process
01
Call us day or night
We answer 24/7, find out what happened and whether everyone is out safely, and typically have the nearest crew there in about 60 minutes to start protecting your property.
02
We secure the property
We shut off and secure the damaged gas, electrical, and plumbing systems first, then board up broken windows and doors and tarp damaged roof sections to keep weather and intruders out.
03
We clean and deodorize
We remove the soot from walls, ceilings, and belongings, dry the rooms that firefighting water soaked, and treat the smoke odor at its source instead of covering it up, so it’s less likely to linger.
04
We repair and rebuild
We repair the framing, drywall, and finishes, update your adjuster along the way if you’re filing a claim, and walk through the finished rooms with you before we call the job done.
In an Emergency
Immediate Steps to Take in a Fire Emergency
Get Out Safely
Stay low under the smoke and crawl to the nearest exit. Feel each door with the back of your hand, and if it’s hot, use another way out. Take the stairs, never an elevator, and once you’re out, stay out.
Stop, Drop, and Roll
If your clothing catches fire, stop where you are, drop to the ground, cover your face with your hands, and roll until the flames are out. Then cool any burns with cool water and get medical help.
Call 911
Once you’re safely outside, call 911 and give your full address. If anyone, including a pet, is still inside, tell the dispatcher and firefighters right away instead of going back in yourself.
Then Call Us
After firefighters put out the fire, call us at (866) 604-8697. Stay out of the building until the fire department says it’s safe to go back in, and we’ll board up the property and start the cleanup.

Additional Restoration Services After Fire Damage
After a fire, the water used to put it out can soak into floors and walls and lead to mold, while smoke leaves soot and odor on your belongings. We handle the water removal, mold remediation, contents cleaning, and repairs, so you don’t need a separate contractor.
Water Damage Restoration
We pull out the water firefighters leave behind and dry the building, so the floors and walls are less likely to warp or rot later.
Water Damage Restoration →Mold Removal and Remediation
Our certified team seals off and removes the mold that can follow a fire, so spores don’t spread to the rest of your property.
Mold Remediation →Frozen Pipes and Ice Dams
We dry the ceilings, walls, and insulation under an ice dam leak, so you have less damaged drywall to replace later.
Frozen Pipes and Ice Dams →Reconstruction and Repairs
We rebuild the rooms the fire damaged and add the upgrades you choose, so your property comes back better than before.
Reconstruction →Contents Cleaning and Storage
We clean and restore the belongings others would throw away after a fire, so you keep more of the things insurance can’t replace.
Contents Cleaning →Trauma and Biohazard Cleanup
We clean and decontaminate biohazard and trauma scenes with Haz-Mat certified crews, so you can use the space again.
Biohazard Cleanup →Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning
When we deep clean carpet and upholstery after smoke damage, you can often keep them instead of replacing them.

Taylored Restoration FAQs
Anchorage, Mat-Su, and Fairbanks Fire Damage FAQs
Will my homeowners insurance cover fire and smoke damage?
In most cases, yes. A standard homeowners policy usually covers sudden fire and smoke damage, including cleanup, repairs, and damaged belongings. We take care of the documentation and the back-and-forth with your adjuster, so you can focus on your family.
Will my house still smell like smoke after you’re done?
It shouldn’t. Lingering smoke odor comes from residue trapped in insulation, carpet pad, and other porous materials, and it tends to resurface once the weather warms up. If you smell anything once we’ve left, don’t hesitate to call.
What belongings can be restored after a fire?
More than most people expect, including many items that look ruined at first. We pack out and inventory your belongings, then clean the furniture, clothing, and household items at our facility and treat them for smoke odor. Items the fire burned through or the water soaked for too long may not be worth saving, and we document those for your claim.
Can we stay in our home while you restore it?
Often, yes, if the smoke and soot stayed in part of the house. After our walkthrough, we’ll tell you which rooms you can keep using while we work. If you need to stay somewhere else for a while, many homeowners policies cover a temporary place to stay, so it’s worth asking your adjuster.
How long does fire damage restoration take?
Smoke cleanup in a few rooms usually takes days, while rebuilding burned framing can take weeks or months, depending on how far the fire and smoke reached. Before rebuilding starts, we give you a written scope of work, so you can plan around the repairs ahead.
Do I have to wait for my insurance adjuster before you start?
Not for the emergency work. We can board up openings and remove standing water before your adjuster visits, since waiting gives the damage more time to spread. We photograph the damage before we clean, so your adjuster still sees it as it was.
