Carpet Cleaning
Carpet Cleaning for Alaska’s Sand, Mud, and Long Winters
Winter in Alaska sends a lot of grit through the front door. Road sand, de-icer, and breakup mud work their way deep into carpet fibers, and months of closed windows let odors build up. We rinse that buildup out with hot water, so your traffic lanes look brighter and the whole room smells fresher.
We also clean upholstered furniture, so your couch matches the floors when we’re done. Because we restore water and fire damage, we clean carpet after those losses as well, and we can often save carpet you might have written off.
How Carpet Cleaning Works
Our Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Process
01
We look at the carpet with you
We go through the rooms with you, point out the stains and traffic lanes we’ll focus on, and let you know which spots should lift and which may only fade.
02
We vacuum and pre-treat
We pre-vacuum to pull up loose grit, then treat stains and heavy traffic areas with a spot cleaner suited to your carpet, so they release during the main cleaning.
03
We clean with hot water extraction
Our two-person crew rinses the carpet with hot water from our van-mounted units, then extracts that water along with the dirt and odors it lifted from the fibers.
04
We set up drying
We run a high-powered fan to speed up drying and tell you when the carpet is ready to walk on, so the rooms are back in use as soon as possible.
Before We Arrive
Preparing Your Rooms for a Carpet Cleaning
Clear the Floor
Pick up toys, shoes, and anything breakable from the rooms we’re cleaning, and clear off the tops of small tables and stands that sit on the carpet.
Blot New Spills
Blot fresh spills with a clean white cloth instead of scrubbing, and skip store-bought spot removers, which can set the stain or leave a residue that attracts dirt.
Plan for Pets and Kids
Keep pets and small children out of the rooms while we clean and while the carpet dries, so they don’t track dirt onto the damp fibers.

Our People
Our Alaska Carpet Cleaning Technicians
Our carpet technicians are part of the same crews that handle water damage for Taylored Restoration, so they understand how carpet, padding, and the floor underneath react to moisture. They work in pairs, explain what they’re seeing in your carpet, and answer your questions about caring for it between cleanings.
As part of the community, we sponsor the Scotty Gomez Foundation, Rush Soccer Club, Elite Sports Fitness Center, and the Alyeska Ski Club Golf Tournament.

Taylored Restoration Services
Restoration Services Beyond Carpet Cleaning
Carpet cleaning is just one part of what we do. When a leak, fire, or other loss reaches your floors, we dry, clean, and rebuild too, so the company that cleans your carpet can also handle a much bigger problem.
Water Damage Restoration
Our crews extract the water from soaked carpet and dry the floor beneath it, so you replace less of your flooring.
Water Damage Restoration →Mold Removal and Remediation
We remove mold that grows in carpet and padding after a leak, so your room no longer smells musty or damp.
Mold Remediation →Frozen Pipes and Ice Dams
We handle the water damage from burst pipes and ice dams, so a winter leak does less harm to your floors.
Frozen Pipes and Ice Dams →Reconstruction and Repairs
We install new floors and repair nearby walls when we can’t save the carpet, so you get the whole room back.
Reconstruction →Contents Cleaning and Storage
We clean and store your furniture during a larger restoration, so you get it back clean once your floors are finished.
Contents Cleaning →Trauma and Biohazard Cleanup
When we clean and disinfect a room after a biohazard incident, you get the space back without handling any of it yourself.
Biohazard Cleanup →Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration
We clean soot from the whole building after smoke damage, so the odor is less likely to settle back into freshly cleaned carpet.
Fire Damage Restoration →Taylored Restoration Reviews

Taylored Restoration FAQs
Anchorage, Mat-Su, and Fairbanks Carpet Cleaning FAQs
Will the stains come out?
Most of them, yes. We pre-treat stains before cleaning, and many lift completely, while some older ones only fade. Pet stains that soaked into the padding are the hardest, and we can’t always remove them fully.
How often should carpet be cleaned?
We recommend every 12 to 18 months, and more often if you have pets, young children, or busy entryways. Regular cleaning removes the grit that wears down fibers, so your carpet lasts longer.
Is this the same as steam cleaning?
It’s the same idea, usually called hot water extraction. We heat water to 175 to 200 degrees, rinse it through the carpet, and pull it back out with the dirt it loosened.
What types of carpet and furniture can you clean?
Most of them. We clean carpets in homes and businesses, area rugs, and fabric-covered couches and chairs, and our technicians set the water temperature for each carpet or rug. A few materials, like silk or furniture labeled for dry cleaning only, don’t hold up to hot water extraction, so we’ll tell you before we start if a piece isn’t a good fit.
Can carpet be saved after water or smoke damage?
Often, yes. After a leak or fire, we dry the carpet and clean out the soot, odor, and contaminants, so you may not need to replace it. Carpet soaked by sewage is the exception and usually has to go.
Do you offer move-out cleaning?
Yes. We handle move-out carpet cleaning through every office, which helps landlords get a unit ready and tenants leave it in good shape.
