Common Questions About Water, Fire & Mold Restoration in Anchorage

What is the step-by-step process for emergency water damage restoration in Anchorage homes?

Emergency water damage restoration in Anchorage typically begins with a rapid on-site inspection and moisture assessment. Technicians identify the source of the water, stop active leaks, and extract standing water using industrial pumps. The affected areas are then dried with air movers and dehumidifiers, followed by cleaning, sanitizing, and repairs if needed. Fast response is critical in Anchorage to prevent mold growth caused by cold weather and trapped moisture.

Fire and smoke odor removal in multi-unit buildings requires containment, ventilation control, and specialized deodorization methods. Our restoration professionals isolate affected areas, clean soot from surfaces, and use advanced odor removal techniques such as thermal fogging, ozone treatment, and HEPA air filtration. This process ensures smoke odors do not spread to neighboring units and are fully neutralized.

Recurring mold growth in Anchorage basements and crawl spaces is often caused by excess moisture, poor ventilation, foundation seepage, and seasonal freeze-thaw cycles. Snowmelt and groundwater intrusion can introduce moisture that becomes trapped in colder months, creating ideal conditions for mold. Our professional mold remediation addresses both the mold and the underlying moisture source to prevent future growth.

Homeowners should contact Taylored Restoration immediately, ideally within the first 24 hours after a burst pipe or leak. Water damage can worsen rapidly, leading to structural issues and mold growth within 24 to 48 hours. Prompt water damage restoration in Anchorage significantly reduces repair costs and long-term damage.

Most homeowners insurance policies cover sudden and accidental water damage and fire damage restoration services in Anchorage. Coverage depends on the cause of the loss, policy terms, and exclusions. Our team assists homeowners by documenting damage and working directly with insurance providers to streamline the claims process.

Founders

Founders

Larry and Elaine built Taylored Restoration with passion, integrity, and genuine care for every employee, customer, and community member they served. Together, they established a company grounded in trust, quality, and compassion; values that continue to shape who we are today and how we serve those who count on us.

Though Larry is no longer with us, his spirit and leadership remain at the heart of Taylored. Elaine continues to enjoy life surrounded by family and friends, proudly watching as the next generation carries forward the principles and traditions that she and Larry worked so hard to build. We are deeply grateful for the foundation they created and for the lasting legacy that continues to guide everything we do.

Leadership Team/Strategic Team

Manager/Owner
Trent Taylor, Owner and General Manager of Taylored Restoration, has over 30 years of experience in the business, having worked alongside my parents, who founded the company. I was born in Portland, Oregon, and relocated to Alaska at the age of two weeks. I am a proud father of five children: three adult daughters, Jazmin, Toni, and Tiana, who are twins, as well as two younger children, Liv and Louis. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family and engaging in skiing, fishing, traveling, hiking, and hunting. Additionally, I contribute to the community by volunteering with the Gomez Foundation, which assists underprivileged children in accessing hockey, and the Rush Soccer Club. I have completed two half Ironman competitions and a mountain marathon, and I was also the chess champion during elementary school. My appreciation for working at Taylored Restoration stems from my relationships with my colleagues, the satisfaction that comes from helping others, and the supportive, family-oriented environment we foster here.

In my leisure time, I cherish moments spent with my son, his wife, and my two granddaughters. I also enjoy seeking out unique finds at antique shops and local sales. Additionally, I have a cat named Meeks, whom I rescued and who has a very engaging personality. While I have a fear of heights, I am pleased to share that I overcame this to enjoy ziplining during a vacation in Hawaii. I appreciate working at Taylored Restoration because of its family-oriented culture and the stability that comes from being part of a company with over 50 years of history.

My husband, John, and I have been married since 1996, and together we are raising our wonderful daughter, Haileigh, who is pursuing a career in education while competing in figure skating. We are also the proud guardians of our two cats, Kenai and River. I exemplify that having severe ADHD does not have to hinder achievement of professional goals. In Human Resources, I specialize in addressing challenges that may not be readily apparent, often in innovative ways. I greatly value my time at Taylored Restoration, where I truly feel at home. The relationships I have built with my colleagues are akin to family, and I take pride in being part of a company dedicated to restoring dreams.
