Master Closet Must-Haves
If you are planning on a master closet addition or renovation, you may not know where to start. There are tons of closet features available, and it’s a good idea to think about all possible options for your updated space. We’ve compiled a list of popular closet features that you will want to consider for your master closet.
Shoe storage. If you have a large shoe collection, you may want to consider built-in shoe storage in your master closet. Many closet organizers make shoe-specific shelving that will easily fit into your existing closet.
Hamper. When planning the layout of your master closet, don’t forget to add a hamper or two to organize your dirty clothing. This can be built in or added after construction is complete.
Double stacked hanging bars. To make the most of space, double stack your hanging bars. This will double your storage opportunity by allowing you to hang clothing on two levels rather than one.
Full Length hanging space. Even though the double stacked hanging bars are great for saving space, don’t forget to add a small full-length option for dresses and other long pieces of clothing.
Drawers. One of the best parts about adding built-in drawers to your closet is that it can eliminate the need for a dresser in your bedroom. This will free up more space for other furniture or storage in your room.
Seating area. If you have extra space, consider adding a sitting area to your master closet. This will add a luxurious touch to the space and give you somewhere to sit when trying on clothing and shoes.
