JOSH ICKES, BRANCH MANAGER & ESTIMATOR
Josh joined the Taylored Restoration team in 2006, bringing with him 18 years of experience in the construction field. He started out as a yard hand before working his way up to lead carpenter and general foreman for both commercial and residential-based companies. Josh earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2000 and became IICRC-certified in water damage restoration in 2007.
Moving to Alaska when he was less than one year old, he grew up in Talkeetna. In addition to the usual outdoor recreation Alaska offers, he enjoys wildlife photography and has traveled to such exotic locales as Belize and the Galapagos Islands.
KAREN HOFFMAN, OFFICE MANAGER
Karen began her tenure as Taylored Restoration’s Wasilla Office Manager in 2004. She brought with her a wealth of knowledge and skill, having over 17 years of experience in administration, accounting, and customer service. Karen takes great pride in bringing an upbeat yet soothing demeanor to the workplace as well as providing exceptional customer service. She will make sure that if you reach her you absolutely will get taken care of, no matter what. A love of the outdoors brought Karen from Kansas to Alaska in 2003. In addition to the breathtaking scenery, she enjoys fishing, hiking, and meeting the interesting people of the state. A devoted mother, she also loves spending time and exploring new adventures with her daughter, Audrey. Other hobbies include reading, traveling, and she always enjoys learning new and interesting things.
BRIAN HORNSBY, PROJECT MANAGER
Brian Hornsby got his start in construction working as a laborer for a Washington framing company to earn money after school. Wanting a change of scenery, Brian moved to Alaska in 2009 and began working for Taylored Restoration as a Lead Carpenter in 2011, then as an Estimator/Project Manager in 2017. Brian loves the satisfaction he gets when he finishes a home, especially the excitement on the homeowners face as he hands over their house keys. In his off time, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, playing the bass in a band, fishing, hunting and 4-wheeling in the great Alaskan outdoors
GARY MARSHALL, PROJECT MANAGER
Gary has been with Taylored Restoration since 2007. Gary brought a wealth of knowledge with him having been a lead carpenter for 32 years and a business owner for 12 years. He continues to to gain expertise. He now also has his certification in Fire & Water Restoration, Mitigation and scene preservation as well as being certified in Level 2 Xactimate (Estimating system required by many insurance companies).
Gary is happily married and is also the father of five children . He enjoys the Alaskan outdoors and spends time with his family out on Alaskan adventures like fishing, skiing and snow-machining. Gary is an experienced estimator that really focuses on customer service and follow through.
GARY SKAN, PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Gary joined the Taylored Restoration team in October 2013. Prior to joining Taylored, Gary worked for Spenard Builders Supply for 17 years. Gary worked in several different positions, from yard worker to PIC Inventory control. Gary implemented the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) at the Birchwood Distribution Center as well as many other involved tracking and management duties. Gary also was the lead equipment operator and trainer. All these skills have been applied working for Taylored and fine tuning the production side of things. He has been a super addition to the team.
Gary is very active in sports, including being the baseball coach at Colony High School for 10 years. He was an American Legion Baseball Coach for 8 years and was proud to bring American Legion Baseball back to Palmer in 2014 with the Palmer Pioneers. Gary is also a volleyball club coach and High School/Collegiate Volleyball Official.
BOBBIE SAMPSON, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Bobbie joined the Taylored Team in August of 2013. She comes from a myriad of services – many of which tie directly into our field of work. Her experience includes work at Cummins Northwest Anchorage, where, as the Branch Administrator she helped expand the OSHA compliance and safety plans. In Phoenix Arizona, she was a Lead Field Inspector with certifications in Mold, Asbestos and Lead and also worked on the City of Phoenix Lead Assessment Teams as a Risk Assessor.She moved to Alaska with her Husband in 2010. In her spare time Bobbie loves to cook and feed the masses. She also really enjoys being involved with Medieval Reenactments complete with costume with her husband Josh.
NEESHA NORMAN, ESTIMATOR ADMINISTRATOR
Neesha joined the Taylored Team in May of 2018 and brings with her a vast background in customer service and admin experience, she is a go getter and loves helping people make the choices that will bring their home to fruition and the smiles on the faces of the clients when they see the home Taylored has re-built for them. She loves music and is a foodie. The mom of two also likes to do kickboxing when she can.
